The Foundation is in the process of converting the scholarship application to an online platform. Please DO NOT complete or submit a paper application. If you would like to start the process you may work on your biographical narrative. The online platform is expected to be live in December.

Adams Land & Cattle, LLC College Level Scholarship, $1,000

  • Must have graduated from a Custer County high school or a high school in a contiguous county.
  • Must have a cumulative 3.0 college GPA. Verification is required.
  • Must be a full-time college student enrolled at a Nebraska school pursuing an undergraduate degree.
  • Scholarship will be paid out second semester.
  • May reapply in successive year if still enrolled in college. Maximum of two years.

Adams Land & Cattle, LLC Scholarship for Mid-Plains Community College—Broken Bow Campus, $1,000 

  • Graduating senior from Custer County high school OR a graduate from a Custer County high school currently attending Mid-Plains Community College – Broken Bow campus.
  • Must attend Mid-Plains Community College—Broken Bow Campus.  
  • Must have a 2.5 High School GPA.
  • Scholarship will be paid the second semester of freshman year.   

AgLand ATV College Mechanical Scholarship, $1,000

  • Must be a graduate of a Custer County High School.
  • Must currently be enrolled in a mechanical field.
  • If no college applications are received, it may be awarded to a Custer County high school senior.

Roscoe & Marguerite Bristol Scholarship

(2) Two scholarships at $1,000 each: 1 for a Senior, 1 for college Junior

  • Must be a Senior at Ansley Public High School OR must be an Ansley graduate entering Junior year of college. 
  • Must attend an accredited Nebraska Institution (technical, 2 year/associate or 4 year/bachelor). 
  • Scholarship will be paid out during the fall semester. 
  • Senior recipient may reapply as a college Sophomore for their Junor college year.

Custer County Home Extension Scholarship, $300 

  • Must have graduated from a Custer County high school. 
  • Third year or above student at a Nebraska post-secondary school. 
  • Must demonstrate financial need.

Joan Downey RN Memorial Scholarship, $1,000 

  • Must have graduated from a Custer County high school. 
  • Must be currently in college and entering Junior or Senior year. 
  • Must be enrolled in a RN Nursing program.

Steven Douglas Metcalf Memorial Medical Scholarship, $500

  • Must be entering the field of medicine to become a medical doctor, dentist, nurse, physician’s assistant, or nurse practitioner.
  • Must have a 3.5 college GPA.
  • Graduate of a Custer County high school.
  • Must currently be enrolled in college, entering junior or senior year.

EZ IT Solutions Information Technology Scholarship, $1,000

  • Available to Custer County high school seniors or Custer County high school graduates currently enrolled in college.
  • Must be pursuing an undergraduate degree or technical degree in Information Technology or related field.
  • On a page separate from the Biographical Narrative, please address the following two questions: (1) Why are you pursuing a degree in the Information Technology field?   (2) What have you done to prepare yourself for the Information Technology field?

Jeanne M. Mohatt Memorial Scholarship, $1,000 

  • Former Broken Bow High School graduate. 
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited Nebraska university or college. 
  • For students entering their Junior year of studies. 
  • Preference given to students in the following degree areas: Journalism, English, Political Science, or Education.

Nebraska State Bank Business Scholarship, $1,000

  • Must be a senior at a Nebraska high school or must have graduated from a Nebraska high school.
  • Preference given to students in the following degree areas: Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Business Management. 

Nebraska State Bank College Scholarship, $1,000

  • Must have graduated from a Nebraska high school.
  • Must be a college student entering their second year or above.
  • Must include in biographical narrative how student has taken a leadership role in college.

Nebraska State Bank Youth Leadership Custer County Scholarship, $1,000

  • Must be a current or past participant in Youth Leadership Custer County.
  • Must write an essay on how you benefited by participating in Youth Leadership Custer County.
  • Letter of recommendation from someone you worked with during YLCC.
  • High school and college students are eligible. 

Dr. Duane Rice Memorial & Joanne Rice Scholarship, $1,500 

  • Former graduate of Custer, Blaine, Thomas, or Cherry County high school. 
  • Applicant has gained admittance into Veterinary Medicine program. 
  • (Or) if there is no qualified Vet Medical student, then a student entering Junior year in Agriculture and Natural Resources. 

Lorraine E. Still Scholarship, $300 

  • Must be a Senior at a Custer County high school or a student residing in Custer County attending school in a contiguous county. 
  • Also available to any Freshman, Sophomore, or Junior currently enrolled in a two- or four-year degree program. 
  • For a two- or four-year degree in Consumer and Family Science, Art Education, or Nursing.

Tiffany Theater Scholarship, $500

  • Must be a current or former employee at the Tiffany Theater.
  • Student can be a high school senior or currently enrolled in college.
  • Employee must have been in good standing.
  • Must have been employed at Tiffany Theater for at least one year.

Ransom Varney Memorial Pharmacy Scholarship, $1,500

  • Must be a graduate of a Custer County High School.
  • Student must currently be enrolled in the pharmacy program at Creighton University or University of Nebraska Medical Center.

Dr. Clyde W., Ethelyn E. Wilcox & Carol Ann Wilcox-Stiff Memorial Scholarship, $1,000

  • Graduate of a Custer County high school. 
  • GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • GPA of 3.0 must be maintained and will be verified before scholarship is awarded.
  • Second year or above student of Medicine, Nursing, Journalism, Theatre, or Architecture.

Shirley M. Wood Memorial Scholarship, $400 

  • Graduate of a Custer County high school. 
  • Non-traditional student. 
  • Enrolled at Mid-Plains Community College Broken Bow campus. 
  • Must be currently enrolled in the Nursing program.

Scholarship Deadline

All scholarship applications are due FEBRUARY 1!


Important Instructions

  • Review criteria to make sure you meet all requirements.
  • Applications may be downloaded using the button below. 
  • Completed applications may be printed and mailed or brought into the Foundation office. If mailed, envelopes must be postmarked on or before the deadline. 
  • It is not necessary to put applications in any type of plastic binders. 
  • One application must be completed for each scholarship you are applying for.
  • Multiple applications may be submitted in one envelope.
