The Foundation is in the process of converting the scholarship application to an online platform. Please DO NOT complete or submit a paper application. If you would like to start the process you may work on your biographical narrative. The online platform is expected to be live in December.

1952 Football Team Scholarship, $1,000

  • Must be a student at Broken Bow High School or attending college having graduated from Broken Bow High School.
  • Must have participated in school’s football program at least Senior year.
  • Show financial need and may not be attending college on an athletic scholarship.
  • Those attending 2-year trade school may also apply.
  • Applicants may reapply during college/trade school years if doing well academically.

Adams Land & Cattle, LLC Scholarships

(2) Two scholarships at $1,000 each 

  • Must be a Senior at a Broken Bow High School.
  • One scholarship will be awarded to a student entering a 4-year/bachelor program.
  • One scholarship will be awarded to a student entering a 2-year/associate program.
  • Have a high school GPA of 3.0.
  • Student must describe in biographical narrative how they have demonstrated leadership or significant involvement in a school or civic organization.
  • Scholarships will be paid the second semester of Freshman year.

Russell Adams Jr. Memorial and Angenette Adams Scholarship

(2) Two scholarships at $250 each 

  • Must be a Senior at Broken Bow High School.
  • Have a GPA of 3.0 and ranked in the top 30% of the class.
  • Enter a 4-year/bachelor degree program.
  • Two scholarships will be awarded, one in each of the following: Agriculture, Business.

Dr. Jackson Bence Scholarship, $1,000

  • Broken Bow High School Senior.
  • Preference given to student entering a health care or related field.

Anthony Blum Memorial Scholarship, $1,000

  • Broken Bow High School Senior who is college-bound.
  • Must be a member of the boys basketball team OR be a member of the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA).

Broken Bow High School Scholarship, $250

  • Senior at Broken Bow High School.
  • General studies.

Joe Jr. and Laura Cupl Memorial Scholarship, $1,000

  • Field of study: Chemistry.

Female Academic Athletic Scholarship, $1,000

  • Must be a female student at Broken Bow High School.
  • Must have been involved in high school athletics for at least 3 years.
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher (all 4 years).

Forsyth Family Scholarship

(2) Two scholarships for $8,000 for University of Nebraska at Lincoln

(1) One scholarship for $8,000 for Hastings College

  • Must be a Senior at Broken Bow High School.
  • Must have a “B” or better average.
  • Enter a 4-year/bachelor degree program.
  • Two $8,000 scholarships for the University of Nebraska – Lincoln.
  • One $8,000 scholarship for Hastings College.
  • Scholarship will be paid at $2,000 per year.

Zane Harvey Memorial Scholarship, $500

(2) Two Scholarships at $500 each

  • Broken Bow High School Senior
  • Student must have been a member of FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) for at least two years.

Ivan & Helen Nelson Memorial Scholarship, $1,000

  • Must be a Senior at Broken Bow High School.
  • Must be entering a 4-year/bachelor or 2-year/associate degree program at a Nebraska institution.
  • Scholarship paid second semester of Freshman year after verifying a 3.0 GPA for the first semester.
  • Applicant MUST demonstrate financial need in the biographical narrative; financial need will be a critical selection factor.
  • Attendance at the scholarship ceremony will be REQUIRED in order to receive this scholarship. The scholarship ceremony will be held March 29, 2020.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 required.

Gene O’Brien Memorial Scholarship, $250

  • Broken Bow High School Senior.
  • Student entering the field of Education.
  • Priority on special education.

Earnest M. & Elizabeth A. Rains Memorial Scholarship, $1,000

  • Must be a Senior at Broken Bow High School.
  • Must have a 3.0 GPA.
  • Must attend a Nebraska institution.

Harry & Lenora Richardson Scholarship, $1,000

  • Must be a Senior at Broken Bow High School.
  • General studies.

Mark & Pat Russell Coaching Scholarship, $500

  • Must be a Senior at Broken Bow High School.
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Must have participated in two extra-curricular activities for at least two years (only one can be a sport).
  • For a 4-year degree in Physical Education with a coaching endorsement.
  • $250 Freshman year, and $250 Junior year.

Dr. Howard & Maurine Stevens Scholarship, $750

  • Must be a Senior at Broken Bow High School.
  • 3.0 or higher GPA.
  • For a 4-year/bachelor degree program in Education.

Burrel & Anna Mae Taylor Family Scholarship, $250

  • Must be a Senior at Broken Bow High School.
  • 3.0 or higher GPA.
  • Demonstrate service, leadership, character, and citizenship qualities as described in the National Honor Society membership.

Maxine Weldin Perpetual Scholarship, $500

  • Must have attended Broken Bow High School all 4 years.
  • Have a 3.5 or higher GPA.
  • Must have participated in two extracurricular activities for at least two years (only one can be a sport).
  • For a 4-year/bachelor degree at a Nebraska institution.

Irvin E. & Margery B. Yohn Scholarship, $3,000

  • Must have attended Broken Bow Public Schools for the past four years, which may include the senior year.
  • Must be in the upper 10% of the graduating class.

Scholarship Deadline

All scholarship applications are due FEBRUARY 1!


Important Instructions

  • Review criteria to make sure you meet all requirements.
  • Applications may be downloaded using the button below. 
  • Completed applications may be printed and mailed or brought into the Foundation office. If mailed, envelopes must be postmarked on or before the deadline. 
  • It is not necessary to put applications in any type of plastic binders. 
  • One application must be completed for each scholarship you are applying for.
  • Multiple applications may be submitted in one envelope.
