Don Davis Early Entry & BB Class of 1959 Dual Credit Scholarship Recipients Announced

Eighteen students from Broken Bow Public Schools were awarded scholarships through the Don Davis Early Entry Access Scholarship and Broken Bow Class of 1959 Educational Fund, both administered by the Custer County Foundation.  Broken Bow High School students currently enrolled in the Early Entry Access Program at Mid-Plains Community College – Broken Bow Campus are eligible to apply for these scholarships.

Students that are enrolled for three credit hours, received a scholarship that will pay for their dual credit classes that they are taking through Mid-Plains Community College — Broken Bow campus. Thirteen students were awarded one of each the Don Davis Early Access Scholarship, and the Broken Bow Class of 1959 Educational Fund. These students are enrolled with six or more credit hours through MPCC — Broken Bow campus.

To qualify for the ACE scholarship the student or student’s family must be approved to participate in one of the federal need-based government programs listed below, have experienced an extreme hardship that affects family income, or be participating in a designated Career Education program as established by the Nebraska Department of Education.

•             Free or Reduced-Price Lunch Program

•             Supplemental Security Income

•             Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF)

•             Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)

•             Special Supplemental Assistance Program (WIC)

Students receiving the ACE scholarship were not eligible for the Davis or Class of 1959 scholarship because the ACE scholarship already pays for their tuition.
